Today, I don’t have a lot to say. Currently, I’m in my friend’s bed with my suitemates eating popcorn and drinking wine, watching Step Brothers, since we’re college students and we do that.
S0metimes, you just gotta relax. It’s essential to your training, seriously. Tomorrow, I’m going on a short run in the morning, then going on a field trip. Sure, I could be resting up right now for my morning run since I have to leave at an early 5:30, but I need to be social and spend time with my friends.
My life is not all about running, guys! I love to eat healthy and run strong, but tonight I needed to relax with my friends and be a normal kid! I’m not going crazy and getting drunk – but popcorn slathered in butter and white wine isn’t the best fuel. But who cares? It’s delicious and I don’t do it all the time, so it’s fine.
I run hard and it’s an essential part of my life, but I seriously love my friends. I lost that for a little while before, when rugby temporarily became all I wanted to do, but then I realized.. I missed my friends and my life. Now, I make sure that I get an equal balance.
So, have a happy weekend guys, and enjoy your lives! If you ever feel a bit disconnected with the world, just relax with your family or friends and take a day off or two. I will be taking a day off because I will be traveling around Vermont looking at rocks! Wahoo!
